Vanilla creme brulee

 For a special treat, enjoy this creamy classic, with fibre baked right in from Vanilla Glucerna®

Ingredients

  • 2 bottles (2 x 237 mL) Vanilla Glucerna®
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 Tbsp (45 mL) granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp (2.5 mL) vanilla extract
  • 5 tsp (25 mL) granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F.
  2. In a bowl, whisk eggs and 3 Tbsp sugar until pale.
  3. Add the Glucerna® and vanilla extract and mix together gently with a rubber spatula.
  4. Transfer the mixture into 5 ramekins and place the ramekins in a baking dish.
  5. Fill the baking dish with water midway up the ramekins.
  6. Put the baking dish in the oven and bake for 40-55 minutes, until the cream still wiggles somewhat in the centre.
  7. Remove the ramekins from the baking dish and put in the refrigerator until the cream has cooled completely.
  8. When serving, sprinkle 1 tsp of sugar on top of each ramekin. Place under the broiler or burn the sugar with a blow torch until it has caramelized or is golden brown.
