Interested in joining the D-Camps team?
At D-Camps, children enjoy an authentic camp experience while having all their diabetes needs met by a team of skilled medical professionals. For fun and skill building, our awesome program team leads the way!
Our medical staff include endocrinologists, doctors, nurses, dietitians as well as health-care students, residents and interns. Together, they form a support network to help campers manage their diabetes more independently. If you or your colleague is interested in working as part of our D-Camps medical team, we’d love to hear from you!
For our program staff, we are always looking for team members who show enthusiasm, dedication, initiative and the ability to use their imaginations to turn camp into a place of magic and possibility. Certain skills and certifications are also required for specific roles. As teamwork is the cornerstone of all camps, we strive to create an environment where everyone works together to provide healthy and enriching experiences for each of our campers.
Applicants for both our medical and program staff must enjoy working with children and teens in an outdoor environment and be willing to learn about and respect the complexities of type 1 diabetes.
We seek passionate, skilled, and hard-working staff members who are not only highly trained but also deeply committed to fostering a safe, fun, and empowering environment. Our ideal team members are adaptable, enthusiastic, and prepared to engage with each camper, offering both the knowledge and encouragement that kids need to thrive. Our staff are committed to a growth mindset, continuously looking to improve and find ways to make a lasting impact in the lives of our campers. Why Join the D-Camps Team? It is hard work. Joining the D-Camps team this summer will mean long, and often exhausting days. However, you will also have confidence knowing that you have made a positive impact in our camp community and the lives of our campers.
What to expect:
- Depending on the program or region you’re interested in, our teams look a bit different. However, regardless of location, we hire a team of both program staff and healthcare professionals to support the around the clock care and experience for our campers in a wide range of positions. • Contracts for program team members for West D-Camps and Camp Huronda run the full summer.
- Our staff members live on-site while programs are in operation for the duration of their contract(s). Accommodations and (carb counted) food is provided!
- Our staff members work full days, caring for and running programs for campers from around 7:00 am – 11:00 pm with time off scheduled throughout the day as well.
- All of our staff take part in a thorough staff training process before the beginning of the summer season. This includes online training as well as in person. We’ll make sure you have all the information you need to be successful before campers arrive!
