This signature community-run event serves as a unifying platform, bringing together individuals and businesses for an exceptional day of golf. We aspire to raise $60,000 to support local children from Shelburne and surrounding regions living with type 1 diabetes. Proceeds from the Flame of Hope will send youth and children to our medically supervised summer camp program D-Camps. But we cannot do this alone.
Your support plays a crucial role in enabling us to conduct vital research. The funds raised from the Cory Conacher Flame of Hope Golf Tournament serve as a driving force, accelerating our progress towards finding a cure for diabetes.

The Objective
Presently, there are 4.7 million residents of Ontario living with diabetes or prediabetes, making it a prevalent and escalating chronic condition in the region. Diabetes carries a stigma; more than one-third of individuals with type 2 diabetes opt not to disclose their condition due to discomfort. For those managing type 1 or type 2 diabetes, external perceptions often result in feelings of guilt, shame, embarrassment, or isolation.The Impact​
Our aspiration is a world free from the repercussions of diabetes. This commitment drives our collaborative efforts to enhance the well-being of those affected. We facilitate knowledge-sharing and connections among individuals and healthcare professionals, advocate for supportive public policies, and fund research endeavors geared towards refining treatments and ultimately discovering a cure to eradicate diabetes. In the past eleven years, the Shelburne Flame of Hope Golf Tournament has generated over half a million dollars in support of Diabetes Canada. This funding aids the 12 million Canadians living with diabetes and contributes to research endeavors striving for a cure.
