Diabetes Fit is a supportive eight week group program designed for individuals diagnosed with, or at risk of developing, type 2 diabetes. Each session includes group education and exercise.

Diabetes Fit provides customized exercise and education support for individuals at risk of diabetes or managing diabetes. Exercise and healthy eating are vital to preventing and managing diabetes. Join Diabetes Fit to get the support you need to start and maintain an exercise program and to learn the basics of healthy eating.

The Diabetes Fit group meets twice a week in 1-hour sessions for a total of 8 weeks. Each 1-hour session includes a mix of healthy living education and exercise. Exercise is based on personal fitness levels and individual goals. Personal measurements are completed at the beginning and end of the program including weight, waist circumference, 6 minute walk test, and 30 second sit to stand test.

This program is FREE to YMCA Members. For Non-Members there is a $60.00 fee for the 8 weeks program which includes a YMCA gym membership. Payment options and membership subsidies are available.
